Prototype testing includes any Web site or set of Web pages that demonstrates the intended functionality of a Web site, but is not currently ‘live’ or fully accessible.
Beginning with the early stages of site development, eVOC can evaluate static Web pages to help inform design elements and brand messaging as well as wireframes to help inform labeling and navigation. Once a functional prototype or beta site is ready, we evaluate the key experience flows to ensure the site navigation is intuitive and the content meets customer expectations. Below is a list of the types of prototypes we evaluate:
- Wireframes / Static Web Pages
Visual design, messaging and content
- Wired Web Pages
Top-level site map, labeling and navigation flow
- Functional Prototypes
Site structure, content and organization
- Beta Sites
Final testing for ‘showstoppers’ prior to launch
eVOC strongly recommends testing major site enhancements or changes before going live. The cost upfront of testing site changes prior to launch pales in comparison to the lost dollars due to visitor abandonment from poor execution. Using static Web pages, wireframes, or fully functional prototypes, eVOC will help you refine your changes for a successful launch.
